Last November I had the pleasure of visiting Tenuta Monacelle wedding venue as I was the judge for the photography category of the Italian Wedding Stars Gran Gala’ that held its second edition at this venue in Puglia.
Together with the organizer of the event, Daniela Corti of Madreperla Events and the director of Tenuta Monacelle we thought about doing a styled shoot at this unique location.
The estate is located a few kilometers from very popular destinations such as:
- Alberobello, the capital of the world-renowned Trulli.
- Locorotondo, one of the most beautiful towns in Italy.
- The baroque city of Martina Franca.
- Ostuni, also known as the white city.
- Also, the Adriatic coastal strip comprising the famous towns of Polignano a Mare and Monopoli.

Tenuta Monacelle wedding venue features in its resort the famous Trulli houses. These houses are round with conical roofs, they were constructed by peasants in the 15th century to accommodate not only the family but the animals as well. Families would have a number of Trulli dwellings built close together. Trulli consist of limestone, without the use of mortar, the walls are thick and strange symbols can be found painted on the roofs. There are several theories about how and why these unique houses exist.
Puglia in the last few years has become one of the most popular wedding destinations with its abundance of ancient towns, extravagant churches, beautiful architecture, the endless secular olive groves, the exceptionally good food and wines and all its breathtaking seaside locations.

Yellow tones and local accents
To complement the Trulli houses, the blue Apulian skies and the very hot July month, the inspiration is a very contemporary colour palette of yellow with a touch of pink, combined with an excellent attention to details and glamorous vintage touches, this is a truly cinematic production.
The bride with her bridesmaids wore bespoke jewellery with gold and pearls and gold and black stones in a very southern rich and vintage style.
Wonderful sunset and amazing light
As I love my photography at sunset I knew that I wanted to embrace some typical Apulian countryside surroundings for some idyllic portrait opportunities and I just love the results.

I had the pleasure of working in this gorgeous location with an amazing atmosphere, great food and an incredible group of people and brands.
