Lake Como has a unique feel and charm and it is easy to see why the area has always been popular as a wedding destination. The preparations and festivities took place at Villa Regina Teodolinda which is in Laglio on Lake Como. The wedding ceremony itself took place at the Anglican Church of the Ascension in Cadenabbia which is another small town on the Lake about 30 minutes further north.
Villa Regina Teodolinda sits on the waterfront in the town of Laglio and has a very quiet, private and secluded atmosphere, the villa has an elegant feel and the tiered gardens offer various opportunities for the different stages of your event. I arrived and after greeting the couple went for a walk around the grounds to photograph the scenery in order to set the feeling for this lovely location. Next I photographed the groom getting ready on his own before he jumped in a lovely vintage Mercedes and drove off to the church.
The bride got ready with e little help in a lovely room on the first floor of the villa and once she was ready we all headed off to the church for a very intimate and emotional ceremony. After the wedding we stopped for some photos on our way back to the villa. The couple enjoyed some drinks and food with their friends and family and then we took some family photos and a few more photos of the newlyweds before everyone sat for a lovely dinner in front of the villa.
The evening concluded with a traditional cake cutting accompanied by sparklers and then a lot of dancing!
