Perhaps one of the most popular destinations on Lake Como a Villa del Balbianello wedding is certainly a special way to get married on Lake Como.
The villa is now one of the most sought-after weddings locations on the Lake. Over recent years its popularity has increased greatly due to some very high budget films shooting scenes there. I think many people also choose it for its location, as it is very romantic and impressive to take a short boat ride from the shores and then arrive at the villa that sits important and dominating the lake surroundings.
Villa del Balbianello wedding – Getting ready
Today, I will be moving around the lake a little. The men are in private apartments over in Bellagio. So I catch a ferry over to them, it is a short 15-minute ride. I photograph them getting ready and then we all take a private transfer back to Grand Hotel Tremezzo where the bride is staying.
On arrival, the guys head to the bar area and pool room and hang out together. Meanwhile, I find the bride, who finishing hair and makeup is now ready to put her lovely dress on. It doesn’t take long for her to get ready with her sister and friends help. As soon as we are all ready we head downstairs to meet the others.
The bride and groom share a quick first look together and are evidently very excited to see each other and go to their wedding together.
Villa del Balbianello wedding ceremony under the Loggia.
The boat ride over to this Villa del Balbianello wedding is great fun. The bride and groom and bridal party share some prosecco and enjoy the sunshine and open air as we speed across the water. The wedding ceremony takes place under the loggia with its famous arches, perfectly ornate greenery and wonderful views, it’s an enchanting location for an intimate wedding ceremony.
After the ceremony, there are hugs and kisses followed by drinks and finger food. Everyone mingles and socializes on the gravel area between the loggia and the villa. We also take plenty of group photos with friends and family. After a very short photo session with the happy couple, it is time for everyone to move up to the reception.
The sit-down meal takes place indoors, however, with the good weather, many people wander in and out during the meal to enjoy the views and incredible scenery. The best man’s speech is both touching and hilarious and before long the meal reaches a conclusion. To end this lovely villa del Balbianello wedding it’s time for the party.
