Venice is an incredible location for a wedding, offering some fantastic hotels. One of these is the San Clemente Palace Kempinski, which according to Conde Nast, is the best hotel in Venice for 2020.

If you are getting married in Venice and want to offer a truly exclusive and unique experience, think about hosting a San Clemente Palace Kempinski wedding.

I love photographing weddings in Venice as the scenery and atmosphere is just so magical. There are so many unique angles for photos, and the mix of history and elegance that Venice offers is just perfect for a romantic wedding.

A 2 Day San Clemente Palace Kempinski Wedding in Venice

This wedding takes place over two days. The celebration starts with casual drinks such as prosecco, beer, and Bellini (Prosecco and peach purée) in the gardens. Next, we have a wonderful surprise as we are all going to enjoy a catamaran sunset cruise around Venice!

The catamaran is large enough to take all the guests and has a large bar with staff serving everyone drinks and finger food as we sail around Venice, taking in the landmarks.

We have some musicians at the back of the boat, including an excellent saxophonist. The soft music makes the voyage even more enjoyable. The photography on the catamaran is a lot of fun, and it provides some perfect angles for images with Venice’s famous landmarks of Piazza San Marco.

After the sunset, we arrive at the Belmond Cipriani, another fine wedding location. The happy couple will have a welcome dinner there and enjoy themselves for a few hours before returning to the San Clemente Palace Kempinski.

San Clemente Palace Kempinski – Wedding Ceremony

With the wedding day upon us, I start with photos of the groom and best man getting ready. While the bride finishes her hair and makeup, we have some relaxed pictures as they spend adjusting their cufflinks, ties, and accessories.

After I find the bride and her girls all ready, they help her get into her stunning wedding dress. Once she is ready, we head down the main staircase to surprise her father before he takes her to the ceremony in the gardens overlooking the water.

This San Clemente Palace Kempinski wedding ceremony lasts around 20 minutes and has plenty of sweet and emotional moments between guests and spouses. At the end, our newly married couple exit to confetti canons and petals.

Drinks and Celebrations

There are drinks and refreshments as soon as the ceremony finishes, and everyone starts to enjoy the celebration. As the drinks continue, we have time for some essential family photos and plenty of spontaneous moments.

We have a private water taxi to take us to visit some of the canals of Venice and take some portraits at sunset before heading back to the San Clemente Palace Kempinski wedding. A water taxi is an excellent idea as it gives you a chance to visit some great locations and allows you to chase the light in the right places.

The wedding reception and party

We return to the hotel, and the cocktails continue for a little longer before dinner. The wedding reception takes place under the trees in the garden and is a lovely atmospheric dining experience with some entertaining speeches.

To end this wonderful San Clemente Palace Kempinski wedding there is a great party in the marquee by the swimming pool!
