This wedding near Lucca Tuscany takes place at Villa Catureglio. The wedding is going to be stylish and unique. New York meets Texas in Tuscany! Villa Catureglio is intimate and ideal for small to mid-size weddings. The villa is located in the foothills north of Lucca. It has its own unique style that reminds me of another villa near Siena that is also popular for smaller size weddings.
The couple is planning to have an intimate outdoor ceremony in the garden in front of the chapel. They will be married in front of close family and friends about 2 hours before the sun starts to disappear behind the hills that protect the villa. The are many people wandering around the villa hurrying to prepare everything for the day’s events, it really is a hive of activity with caterers, florists, musicians, lighting, video, decor and more all happening at once.
I start the day by meeting everyone and then taking some photos of the bridal details, stationery, and flowers. The men are getting ready and have a shot of limoncello to get the day off to a flying start. As they help each other there is great camaraderie and excitement.
Upstairs the girls are about to get ready and outside the décor for the ceremony area is now complete. Meanwhile, guests are enjoying a welcome drink in the sunshine and clean Tuscan air.
The bride and groom wish to have a “first look” before the ceremony. This way, they can share some precious moments with each other instead of in front of everyone at the ceremony for the first time. At the back of the main villa, there is a lovely location for them to meet. Huge smiles, a few tears of joy and bundles of excitement accompany them as they see each other prior to becoming husband and wife.

The processional out the front of the villa and across the lawn is moving and everyone is full of joy for the ceremony. The ceremony lasts about 20 minutes and is accompanied by music and two emotional readings.
The vows are even more emotional. They exit the ceremony after receiving everyone’s congratulations the festivities commence. The cocktails on the front lawn continue while I take family photos and also a few portraits of the couple.
The reception is to take place in the back garden where a “U” shape table is set. The flowers, candles, lighting, and decor are original and true to the couples own style.
