Terre di Nano – Monticchiello wedding

published-on-what-junebug-loves-black-150

Terre di Nano is not far from where I live so maybe there’s a little bit of bias in me towards working there… but even so it’s great fun to work at a place that is surrounded by such stunning views and has the picture perfect village of Monticchiello just a few minutes away.

This wedding got off to a tricky start due to the terrible weather that morning. It soon improved though and in the afternoon everyone had already forgotten about the rain and fog! An enchanting dinner under the stars followed and that night the stars really shone bright.

When we first decided to get married in Tuscany, it didn’t take us long to discover Jules’s wonderful website and we spent many an evening looking at his incredible pictures. His style of photography was exactly what we were looking for …beautiful, relaxed and heart-warming pictures which capture the happiness and emotions of your wedding day. We felt incredibly lucky when he said he would be available and agreed to photograph our special day.

We were both quite heartbroken when we woke up to a horrendous thunderstorm and cloud of fog on the morning of the wedding. However, from the moment Jules arrived he was quick to reassure us and said all the right things to help us relax and put us at ease. He was very kind and understanding and made us feel much better about the tricky (mortifying!) situation we found ourselves in.

We both do not enjoy having our photos taken, but Jules was excellent at directing us and helping us feel more relaxed and less self conscious. We were both so happy that most of the time we weren’t aware of the camera lens!

We absolutely love our beautiful wedding photos and we want to say a huge thank you to Jules for capturing the ‘magic’ of our dream wedding. They are better than we could have wished for and we will enjoy looking at the them for many years to come.

We were not present at the wedding but these pictures are lovely. We easily could imagine being there. I’m sure that having a bride like Shanna be the centerpiece of the pictures made the photographer’s job easy! We thought we were looking through a glossy magazine of gracious living. Particularly liked the interplay of sunlight through leaves and the generally rustic background for the intimate bride and groom pictures was so very nice.

Jules, a heart felt thank you for playing such an imperative role in my sister and Dan’s magical day.

Planning a wedding abroad is not for the faint hearted, even from the sidelines, of this I am sure. With location and setting receiving five gold stars, two love birds present and accounted for, all seemed ‘just peachy,’ that was until D day arrived. Imagine my horror as I pulled back our shutters ready to be basked in warm sunshine and for the birds to chirp merrily back at me, only to be met with… Well let’s just say the heavens were angry, REALLY angry. 3 hrs into the morning and there was no respite from our friend the weather, my sister was positively ready to board the next flight, and despite a positive front, everyone’s spirits were beginning to feel a little dampened (pardon the pun) That was until photographer/lifter of bad moods, floated in on his sunshine cloud. Reassuring me he could help, he disappeared behind the firmly shut door, (that we had begun to be too scared to even tip toe past) and reappeared with a dry eyed, smiling bride to be.

You see, Jules wasn’t just ‘the photographer’ he really knew what he was doing. Living close by he had shot at the venue before, so knew the town and it’s quirky streets like the back of his hand, he knew where to get the best shots, when to expect the best light, spoke fluent Italian, so was able to help with language barriers, not so disconnected that he couldn’t find the time to translate a 5 colour makeup palette, whilst busily just getting on with his own job. He was discreet throughout the day, so you were never bothered by his presence, yet politely authoritative when crowds of family and friends were all a little consumed in canapés and bubbles to attend their picture slot.

The pictures are wonderful Jules, thank you once again. I shall thoroughly recommend you should a situation arise. You really did contribute so much to what was just a magnificent day, but most of all, thank you so much for bringing the smiles and sunshine with you x
