This Norwegian wedding in Tuscany takes place on a sunny but really windy day which is a little unusual for Tuscany! The important thing is that it is hot and sunny as our Scandinavian guests don’t want to see clouds as they have plenty of that back home.
As a Siena wedding photographer, my favorite locations are in the countryside near Siena. There are some wonderful venues not far at all from the famous city.
However, today’s wedding is at the impressive Borgo Stomennano.
The bride and groom are both getting ready on the same floor and their rooms are very closeby. So it is easy for me to hop back and forth and take photos of both of them getting ready. The groom gets ready quietly with his best man and is concentrating on the importance of this day. He is smartly dressed in a blue suit and black bow-tie.
The bride has a very original look with a dress and headpiece that recalls the 40/50’s, it’s always fun to photograph an event where there’s an interesting style element. She is beautiful and radiant as she does the finishing touches of her preparations.
The ceremony takes place in the lower tier of the front gardens. It is a lovely ceremony conducted in Norwegian by their own priest. After, they exit to petals and head for drinks and refreshments. There are plenty of family photos and closer to sunset I take them for some photos together in the fields.
The dinner is at the back of the villa and in true Norwegian style, there are many speeches to accompany the food and wine. At the end of dinner, we all move to the pool area for cake cutting, first dances, and the party!
Ditt Brylupp is a large publication in Norway. They gave me 11 pages for this wedding and it is a beautiful feature worth having a look at.
