La Foce wedding – 1813!!

La Foce wedding villa and gardens commands an impressive view over the world famous Val d’Orcia an area that is quite simply breathtakingly beautiful countryside.

The villa gardens are gorgeous and so the whole event was planned to take place outside using various areas of the property. Unfortunately the weather this spring has been unusually unstable and this wedding took place on a day that in terms of the weather was nothing short of a surprise for everyone.

The day started with torrential rain and then around lunchtime it cleared up slightly allowing me to get a few photos outdoors without getting too wet. Then whilst groom and bridal preparations took place the wind increased and the weather started to worsen as a storm was arriving.

During the wedding ceremony the storm arrived and just as well we were safe indoors. After the ceremony we took some family photos in the villa and then as the storm passed the sun made a quick appearance just giving us a few moments to take some photos outside. My respect goes to the bride and groom who managed to brave the freezing wind and drastically low temperatures… that day the temperature reached a record low of 4°C.

The last time it was that cold in this area was 1813…… 200 years ago!!

Here are a few photos from this La Foce wedding.

Jules, we can’t thank you enough. Not only are the photos absolutely beautiful — we knew we could expect that from you from the moment we met you and saw your work — but you really went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and relaxed on our wedding day. You were a pleasure to work with and exceeded all expectations, which were set very high, by the way! We will cherrish these photos and the memories they recall for the rest of our lives. Thank you so much, Jules.

Wonderful. Everyone looks fantastic (especially true since only a little of my head shows and in only one shot). The photos capture the essence and beauty of the couple and the location. Great job, everyone. It was a great trip surrounded a great wedding.

    Same time next year?

Absolutely stunning photos, Jules! Regardless of the uncooperative weather, you were able to capture beautiful moments of sheer bliss across the wedding day. We truly appreciated your flexibility and creativity; it made for a seemingly seamless execution of “Plan A”. 🙂

Cheers to Jules, Stef, João, the Lourenço & Rubin families! xo

Absolutely stunning photos!!! Jules, you’ve truly captured the essence of joy and romance shown at Stefanie and Joao’s wedding! We all had a blast! I absolutely loved both the far away shot kissing under the arch, and the romantic/up close shot of the couple to the left of the arch photo! All your hard work in the cold weather paid off. Thank you!!

Congratulations for the excellent work, Jules. The photos are splendid, being possible to understand the state of mind of the wonderful newly formed couple, even the nervousness in the smile of João Pedro. I liked the idea of shooting the dress, shoes and jewelery, and temporary relief from the storm. I love the pictures that captured the petals of the roses fall and the one which Stefanie has her left hand on the neck of João Pedro, the light is wonderful. Best, Oriana and João Lourenço

Fabulous photos from a fabulous wedding. Whatever the plan (A, B, whatever), it didn’t matter. The day was magical and the photographs show the joy of the happy couple and everyone was who was there. I wish the best to you, Steffie & Joao, and I was so happy to be able to share in your perfect day.
