La Foce wedding – 1813!!

La Foce wedding villa and gardens commands an impressive view over the world famous Val d’Orcia an area that is quite simply breathtakingly beautiful countryside.

The villa gardens are gorgeous and so the whole event was planned to take place outside using various areas of the property. Unfortunately the weather this spring has been unusually unstable and this wedding took place on a day that in terms of the weather was nothing short of a surprise for everyone.

The day started with torrential rain and then around lunchtime it cleared up slightly allowing me to get a few photos outdoors without getting too wet. Then whilst groom and bridal preparations took place the wind increased and the weather started to worsen as a storm was arriving.

During the wedding ceremony the storm arrived and just as well we were safe indoors. After the ceremony we took some family photos in the villa and then as the storm passed the sun made a quick appearance just giving us a few moments to take some photos outside. My respect goes to the bride and groom who managed to brave the freezing wind and drastically low temperatures… that day the temperature reached a record low of 4°C.

The last time it was that cold in this area was 1813…… 200 years ago!!

Here are a few photos from this La Foce wedding.
