Antica Fattoria di Paterno wedding

Antica Fattoria di Paterno wedding venue is in Chianti and is about 45 minutes drive from Florence. It's not easy to find but well worth it when you eventually do!

This Persian-Australian-English wedding was a wonderful blend of cultures meeting in a lovely location in the heart of Tuscany.

The bride and groom got ready at another villa called I Massini just at the bottom of the hill about 2 mins drive from Antica Fattoria di Paterno. Once we had concluded the preparations we all moved to the main villa where the wedding ceremony was set to happen on the covered terrace.

Being a Persian wedding it was full of lots of lovely details to photograph as traditionally the are many elements including: the seven herbs, the seven pastries, the mirror of fate and two candelabras which are symbols of light and fire. The decorated eggs, almonds, walnuts and hazelnuts are all symbols of fertility; there were also the heavenly fruits: pomegranates, grapes, apples.

A cup of honey is also used as after the couple is married, the bride and groom each dip their little finger in the cup of honey and feed it to one another.

Here are just a few photos from this Antica Fattoria di Paterno wedding.
