Weddings in Tuscany – May is for Poppies

The countryside in Tuscany changes rapidly in colors and tones as we move from spring to summer and then autumn. I thought I would share a few images each month to try and show these changes as the months go by. For me May is about poppies, these wild poppies are often seen growing together with corn or in fields of grass. The crops are also ripening in late May and so start to take a more golden color. The poppies are quite delicate and as soon as the hotter temperatures arrive they soon disappear.

I recently photographed the wedding of a fantastic young couple from the US and I decided to take them for a few photos in the fields. The first images below are from an olive grove as it was right there and easily accessible. The poppy photos are from another location just a short drive away. What’s not to love about weddings and poppies!

    Thank you for taking such wonderful photos of us! Having a destination wedding, I spent a very long time deciding which photographer to hire. Funny enough you were my very first and final pick. You really have an uncanny knack for capturing the love we share in your photographs. Nothing can really represent the magic that happened on our wedding day – but these photos sure come close.
