Castello di Modanella is a great venue and it is so easy to imagine a beautiful wedding under the Tuscan sun in the majestic surroundings of a medieval castle. The weather in Tuscany in June is most often hot, sunny and dry… however, occasionally there can be thunderstorms and unsettled weather and this is exactly what happened at Nicola and Andy’s wedding.
I enjoyed the wedding a lot and although everyone was disappointed I asked them to trust me that the photos would be fine. Yes there were inconveniences and the pouring rain made things difficult but they managed to do the most important thing, they got on with their wedding, accepted the weather and had a good time.
We didn’t get to wander around fields and vineyards as they were reduced to mud pits, so we had to work in a few confined spaces. I think that the images go to show that good photos don’t necessarily require good weather. Later on during the dinner the rain finally stopped and we went outside for a few minutes to get some more photos, we even caught a glimpse of the sun for a moment.
Here are a few of my favourite images from this wedding at Castello di Modanella.
