Il Borro wedding
Tuscany has thousands of potential wedding venues but I just love the variety of an Il Borro wedding. The property just offers so many options that every time I go there I get to do something different. For previous Il Borro weddings that I have photographed the groom has either gotten ready in the main villa, the village itself or in another one of the villas dotted around the estate. This time though the groom, bestmen and groomsmen all finished getting ready in the hunting lodge. It worked well because there were quite a few of them and it gave us plenty of space, they brought along an impressive looking bottle of liquor in order to toast the groom and with the wooded beams and hunting memorabilia on the walls it all worked well together in the photos.
The rest of the event revolved around the wedding in the church in the village and then the festivities back at the villa. The weather was not very good and thunder rumbled away for most of the day but apart from showers in the distance it didn’t rain. Dinner was still held out on the terrace albeit under a marquee but this didn’t dampen spirits. I can’t wait to photograph my next Il Borro wedding!
